I am not questioning the efforts of doctors to help others: it is not their fault that the system that employs them is so single track, and nor are they responsible for the poor actions of a minority of orthodox practitioners. But there are many well researched alternatives to treat the symptoms of Covid 19 which are being sidelined in favour of hastily tested and sometimes harmful drugs.

This post reports the findings of two key academic studies of real life homeopathic treatments of Covid 19, and lists the most frequently used homeopathic remedies for tackling the symptoms of Covid 19 in India and Italy.

Which homeopathic treatments are being used and which symptoms of Covid 19 are they being used to treat?

Bipin Jethani et al examined the clinical characteristics and remedy profiles of patients with Covid 19 in a retrospective cohort study. Link to summary article https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33567460/

In the study, confirmed COVID-19 patients admitted at a COVID Health Centre in New Delhi between April 29 and June 17, 2020 were given conventional and homeopathic treatment. “Patients were grouped into mild, moderate or severe categories of disease. Their symptomatologic profiles were analyzed to identify indicated homeopathic medicines”.

The study found that Arsenicum album, Bryonia alba, Pulsatilla nigricans, Nux vomica, Rhus toxicodendron and Gelsemium sempervirens were the most frequently indicated homeopathic medicines for the treatment of Covid 19.

The symptoms treated were fever (43.4%), cough (47.4%), sore throat (29.6%), headache (18.4%), myalgia (17.9%), fatigue (16.8%), chest discomfort (13.8%), chills (12.6%), shortness of breath (11.2%) and loss of taste (10.2%).

A second study from Italy found these medicines were prescribed

A study of 50 cases involving 20 registered homeopathic practitioners, demonstrating the effective use of alternative treatments to address symptoms of Covid 19 in the community and avoid the need for hospitalisation, found that the following were prescribed (in order of frequency):

Bryonia alba (21 times); Arsenicum Album (16 times); Phosphorus flavus(9 times); Atropa belladonna (6 times); Antimonium tartaricum (6 times); Eupatorium perfoliatum (4 times); Phosphoricum acidum (3 times); unspecified patient’s basic remedy (3 times); Lycopodium clavatum(3 times); Sulphur (3 times); Hepar sulphur. (2 times); Kalium phosphoricum (2 times); Gelsemium sempervirens(2 times); Mercurius solubilis, Chelidomum majus, Spigelia anthelmia, Solanum dulcamara, Psorinum, Spongia tosta, Ferrum phosphoricum, Ruta graveolens, Causticum hahnemanni, Thuya occidentalis, streptococcinum, Ignatia amara (once each).

Effectiveness

The Italian study concluded that “the COVID-19 disease is extremely complex, so it is essential to combine the contributions of different medicines to increase clinical results, as is beginning to be demonstrated by the integration of allopathic medicine with traditional Chinese medicine”

Of the 50 cases studied all 50 patients symptoms were relieved to the point that none need to be hopitalised.

The question comes, How do we treat these problems when they arise? With ongoing stress, General Medical treatment will not “cure” the problem, it can only “remove” physical symptoms. This in turn leads to more problems as general medicines produce “side effects’ which also need medicines.

Of course what constitutes nervous stress is different for each individual. Some people thrive in conditions that would be seen as “stressful” to others, or adapt to stressful situations easily.

Inheritance can affect how an individual manages the effects of “stress”. It can therefore be implicated in the manifestation of disease in an individual. However, it is also now known that DNA can change. It acts more like a library from which the life force extracts information than a fixed block of Data always giving the same result.

Collective Unconsciousness

Carl Jung proposed that there is a ‘Collective Unconscious’ which is innate and common to all, a psychic energy field archiving all images of every aspect of creation and including all aspects of human experience, thought, imagination and memory resulting in a matrix of potential possibilities which find expression in the human psyche and played out on the stage of life.

Evidence for the same can be seen in the phenomenon that “The TIMES Crossword” is easier to do in the afternoon than the morning when it is first released. This has given time for the Collective Unconscious to receive and process the information from those who first managed to solve the puzzle. It is then available for the benefit of others attempting to solve it.

Thus collective Unconscious is also the source of the “archetypes” of human consciousness. Examples include The Spiritual Cultural Hero, recognised as The Christ figure, The Warrior for Good, or their opposite The Antichrist, or the Black magician who works with the forces against life. In psychotherapy these opposing forces are the Shadow Self and the Spirit, the ego Vs the Id.

Archetypal Wisdom

In Homeopathy, the principle of “Potentisation” traps and amplifies the “Archetypal Wisdom” of a substance, whether plant, animal or mineral. When transported via the medium of water, administered according to the “law of similarity” this Archetype releases the memory of this unconsciousness relevant to the individual at that time. It brings forth moderation and insight, and thereby stimulates the necessary changes that need to me made.

In this way the past is changed by the present. When learning Homeopathy we are told of a patient who fell out with a close relative. Living on different continents, they were no longer talking. Within a day of the patient receiving the remedy, her relative called wishing to reconnect after several years without contact.

Healing & Homeopathy

One of the precepts of Homeopathic teaching is that ALL life moves to heal itself. In order to do this, the soul of an individual has to be separated from the ego self with which it has become intertwined through programming from the past, (karma, family inheritance, etc.)

“Who we are, who we think we are are, how we act and react, is largely determined by our ingrained past. These are distorting filters that produce the idiosyncrasies of the ego-self and represent the disease from which the soul suffers. They are ingrained into a personal time line into the present from the past” (David Lilly, 2017).

Healing the soul requires that this time line is changed. This is achieved through the remedy, containing the Archetypical image perceived to be the closest fit to the idiosyncrasies of the patient’s ego self. Homeopathy is the reason you choose the remedy, not the remedy or the method involved, it is purely a principle.

This is why the homeopathic principle, when correctly applied, can produce the most amazing results. Because remedies applied through this method have that ability to change the past. They remove the tendency to respond pathologically when put under stress.

We are in fact a combination of behavioural programs – our inheritance from previous generations. Although we all have free will, the effect is somewhat akin to driving in a car with 30 of your ancestors sitting in the back seat, all telling you the direction in which you should be travelling.

As your parents are the first people you meet on your journey through life, their impact on you is the most profound, and in Homeopathic Medicine there is a school of thought that suggests that every disease state will have a connection to this parent child relationship. In the Homeopathic language of plants these relationship traits are echoed by the type of plant, together with the location in which they are found.

For example, if you have a good strong relationship with your parents then plants relevant to you are more likely to be large trees, than if your relationship to your parents was poor or non existent. This is not totally true in all cases, as The Homeopathic medicines made from the plant family Magnoliaceae of which the Magnolia Tree is a member, can sometimes be used to treat problems whose origin can be linked to patients being brought up by people other than their parents, or who were abused by parents, or their surrogates as children.

Similarly the way in which you handle your problems will have some link to the way in which you handled difficulties in navigating your early relationships; the more confident you are in handling the problem the larger the plant from the particular plant family that is going to be used to treat your problem.

It has been noted that plants that tend to have seeds with a “sticking’ ability, e.g. they are ‘gluey’, or else have ‘hooks’ with which they attach, are linked to the idea of ‘feeling the fear but doing it anyway’ when approaching problems, such as people who rise to challenges etc. the word “tough” can often be used in their description. this is different of course to the idea of “clinging” with which some Homeopathic remedies are associated, most usually because of a feeling of lack of support and fear to be on their own, in the plant world these plants would tend to be creepers or vines, having a weak stem and needing the support of others, some plants of course may even go so far as to parasitise others in order to obtain the nourishment they need and often those individuals needing this type of plant will come from very poor family interrelationships, where there was a lot of violence, or one of the parents were absent all together, or even may be linked to having to run away due to war or other threats to life.

Mothers are the energetic source for all children and therefore for all people, so the mother needs to love their child unconditionally in order to give them the energy they need to live life fully. If the mother shows chronic anger at their child then the child will feel separated from this energetic source.

The Father is the one who helps direct the child’s energy but if they are critical of either the mother, or child, then the child will suffer.
The relationship with the father also determines how easy it is for you to attain success, how was it walking up to your father? this is a measure of how easy it is for you to attain your goals .

It is important to remember at all times however that just as you are acting out the “vibrational agenda” you brought into the world, your mother and father are just links in the chain, as their behaviour is in accordance to the way in which previous generations affected them.

Neither yourself nor your parents are to blame for your pain, there are strong generational patterns that can be harmful as well as beneficial to you and these tentacles originating several generations back can still jerk you around like a puppet.

The influence of a woman on a child’s personality is 8 times greater than than that of a man; this correlates with cytoplasmic DNA inherited only from the mother, and is responsible for energy and respiration. the Chinese talk of the 8 ancestral rivers who are the 8 Great, great, grand mothers and who are responsible for the personality of any individual today.

The iris patterns will indicate which parent is the dominant personality in any individual, although all iris types emanate from the interplay between the opposite structures in the iris; the areas of lack of substance, known as “Flowers” and their opposite, the areas with dense substance noticed as pigments or “Jewels”.

We are all to some extent either ‘Flower’ or ‘Jewel’ as a primary characteristic; those who are “Jewels” tend to identify more with the mother and those who are “Flowers” will identify more with the father, but the unconscious personality will always try to attain a state of wholeness, ‘Jewels’ becoming more ‘Flower’ like and ‘Flowers’ becoming more like ‘Jewels’.

Unfortunately this process will entail the shutting down of some facets of this constitutional personality in order to become the opposite, so in a flower constitution the right hemisphere of the brain is shut down, and in a jewel constitution it is the left that is shut down.. this serves as a filter through which the personality is filtered instead of allowing the personality to flow freely through both hemispheres, and this of course tends to bring conflict and confusion to an individual.

Once we know that this is the likely case however, then we can actively participate in our own healing, adopting activities and practices that promote the development of the side of the brain that is being unconsciously shut down, and in so doing we can find a way to experience the full depth of our core personality.

The dominance of either “Flower” or “Jewel” in the personality is determined primarily by the Jewel parent, i.e. the parent who has the densest iris structure. For example, if your father is a jewel then you are more likely to be pulled towards the left, or masculine hemisphere, if it is you’re mother then you will be pulled towards the right.

To check which eye of your is the dominant eye will have the greater number of traits, {flowers, jewels or stream (cat’s whiskers) } also the dominant eye will tend to be darker and will have more colour.
however the iris with more colour at the top will be the eye that the individual has moved towards..

From an emotional perspective the Flowers tend to be emotional and therefore have a stronger tendency to be right brained, whereas the Jewels tend to be more analytical and left brained.
In switching flowers will tend to move to the left (becoming more analytical) and Jewels will tend to more to the right (becoming more emotional).

Although it is not 100% accurate, the majority of the time those of us who have a higher half moon on the left thumb will tend to be right brain dominant from birth, moving left, and if the Right thumb is higher then they will tend to be left brained and moving to the right.

In March 2015, the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) published an Information Paper on Homeopathy, commonly referred to as ‘The Australian Report’.
This document concludes that “…there are no health conditions for which there is reliable evidence that homeopathy is effective”.

This report triggered headlines around the world falsely suggesting NHMRC had found that homeopathy doesn’t work for any condition.

However, it wasn’t until after the report had been released, and headlines generated, that the alarming flaws in NHMRC’s approach to the Homeopathy review were brought to light. The most serious scientific breach… NHMRC did the review twice, only publishing their second attempt.

• The NHMRC did the homeopathy review twice, producing two reports, one in July 2012 and the one released to the public in March 2015.

• The existence of the first report was never disclosed to the public, and knowledge of it being carried out has only been revealed through Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

• NHMRC say they rejected the first report because it was poor quality despite it being undertaken by a reputable scientist and author of NHMRC’s own guidelines on how to conduct evidence reviews.

• requests made under Freedom of Information revealed that a member of NHMRC’s expert committee overseeing the review process – Professor Fred Mendelsohn – confirmed the missing report to be high quality saying, “I am impressed by the rigor, thoroughness and systematic approach given to this evaluation [….] Overall, a lot of excellent work has gone into this review and the results are presented in a systematic, unbiased and convincing manner.”

The missing first report
NHMRC’s investigation into Homeopathy ran from 2010 to 2015, aiming to review the evidence on homeopathy to inform the Australian public.
NHMRC worked with an external contractor – a respected Australian University – from April 2012 to August 2012.

The report they produced was called ‘A Systematic Review of the Evidence on the Effectiveness of Homeopathy’.

This review, paid for by Australian tax payers, was never made public and NHMRC continues to refuse to release it, despite repeated Freedom of Information requests.

After terminating the contract with the Australian University, a second external contractor – OptumInsight – was hired to do the Homeopathy review again from December 2012-March 2015.

Second time lucky?

Having binned the first report,  for the second time around NHMRC invented a completely new way of analysing the evidence which has never been used before by any research team in the world.

NHMRC decided that for trials to be ‘reliable’ they had to have at least 150 participants and reach an unusually high threshold for quality. This is despite the fact that NHMRC itself routinely conducts studies with less than 150 participants.

These unprecedented and unscientific rules meant the results of 171 of the trials were completely disregarded as being ‘unreliable’,

leaving only 5 trials NHMRC considered to be ‘reliable’. As they assessed all 5 of these trials as negative, this explains how NHMRC could conclude that there was no ‘reliable’ evidence.

Why?
NHMRC are world experts in reviewing evidence, conducting reviews as a matter of routine.
So, if there is truly no reliable evidence that homeopathy is effective for any condition, wouldn’t they have got this result just by conducting the review once, in the usual way, using a standard widely-accepted scientific method?

One has to ask:
• Why do it twice?
• Why remove all traces of the first report?
• Why invent a method even NHMRC has never used for any other review, ever?
• What are they trying to hide?

What can we do?
The disturbing story of the Australian Report suggests that, contrary to the insistence of anti-homeopathy ‘skeptic’ groups and many media stories, there is reliable positive evidence that Homeopathy works for some medical conditions, which is not being reported to the public.

As Homeopathy continues to grow in popularity globally, the public needs to know what evidence exists for this treatment, so they can make informed choices about their healthcare.

An Ombudsman challenge is currently in progress, requiring NHMRC to answer charges of scientific misconduct, procedural breaches, bias and conflict of interest. It is great to see democracy in action, holding NHMRC to account, but in the meantime the Australian Report continues to do unfair damage to the sector.

This is why the public needs to see the first review. To fully understand the Australian Report that is having such a profound impact around the world, we need to see what answers they got the first time they did it.
Demand that NHMRC RELEASE THE FIRST REPORT.
